Industrial Millwright Technician

Position Overview:
Key Responsibilities:
The ideal candidate will possess the capability to interpret technical drawings and schematics. Responsibilities include leveling and aligning equipment such as pumps, compressors, turbines, and other machinery.
Tasks will involve performing repairs and maintenance on pumps, adjusting impeller clearances, aligning motors to gearboxes, and conducting precision measurements using tools like micrometers.
Knowledge of reverse alignment (when necessary), various metal types, bearing types, mechanical seals, and different pump configurations is essential. Familiarity with cooling tower fans, gearboxes, agitators, gas and steam turbines, as well as compressors, is also required.
Qualifications:

Safety and Work Environment:

Familiarity with Material Safety Data Sheets (MSDS) is necessary.
Working Conditions:
The role may involve exposure to various weather conditions and high-noise environments.
Work may be conducted in operational plants, including potential emergency scenarios, with exposure to fumes, airborne particles, and hazardous chemicals.
Regular interaction with moving mechanical parts and construction machinery is expected.
Physical Requirements:
Candidates must be capable of lifting up to 50 lbs.
Tasks may involve repetitive use of hands, arms, and legs.
Good hand-eye coordination is essential for effective communication and task execution.
Physical labor will be a significant part of the job, including climbing and maintaining balance on various structures.
Frequent use of hands for grasping, lifting, and handling objects is required.
Prolonged bending, twisting, walking, and lifting may be necessary.
Assistance to other craft workers may be required as needed.
Ability to navigate uneven terrain and multi-floor buildings is essential.
Mental Requirements:
Effective communication with management and supervisors is necessary.
Mathematical skills for calculations are required.
The ability to perform tasks ranging from sedentary to heavy work is expected.
Focus and concentration in varying conditions are important.
Decision-making skills and attention to detail are crucial for success in this role.
