Postdoctoral Research Associate, Computational Genomics Specialist

We are seeking a highly motivated Postdoctoral Research Associate to join our team at the New York Genome Center. As a key member of our research group, you will contribute to the development of innovative computational and experimental tools to address complex questions in genomics.
Key Responsibilities- Design and execute research projects in statistical genetics, population genetics, and machine learning, with a focus on neuropsychiatric disorders.
- Collaborate with the PI and NPD research group to curate research programs and develop fellowship and grant applications.
- Interface with collaborators inside and outside of NYGC and Columbia University to advance research goals.
- Mentor graduate and undergraduate students from Columbia University in research and professional development.
- Ph.D. in Computer Science, Computational Biology and Bioinformatics, Genetics, Epidemiology, or equivalent.
- Proficiency in programming languages such as C/C++, Java, Python, and R.
- Background in statistical genetics, machine learning, or neuroscience is preferred.
- Excellent organization and communication skills, with a high degree of independence and flexibility.
- A competitive salary of $88,000 per year, including a $70,000 base pay and a $1,500 per month taxable postdoctoral housing allowance.
