Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Perfusion Technician to join our team at Dartmouth Health. As a Perfusion Technician, you will play a critical role in expediting patient care and room turnover times for the cardiac surgery rooms.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist Perfusionists with the assembly of rotating heart-lung machines and manage cell saver machine cleaning, disinfection, and maintenance.
  • Perform assigned patient care and environmental functions, including the operation of cell saver equipment.
  • Prepare supply carts for procedures and set up, operate, document, and takedown Cell Saver machines.
  • Assist with care of equipment issues intra-case and prepare IABP consoles and assist with ECMO.
  • Perform weekly Quality Assurance/Control on heparin monitoring systems and order supplies and medications.
  • Assist with written and electronic documentation and Quality Assurance/Control.
Requirements
  • High school diploma required; 1 year of healthcare experience preferred.
  • Ability to anticipate, prioritize, and coordinate work in a high-stress environment.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills required.
  • BLS Certification within four weeks of hire date and credentialing as a Cell Saver operator within three months.
