Position Summary:
Within the SLS division of SOCOTEC, we are looking for inquisitive, reliable, and proactive individuals who are committed to continuous improvement. As an Associate, you will delve into various building systems and design elements necessary for creating safe and code-compliant structures.
In this role, you will collaborate with Senior Fire Protection Engineers to design and implement Life Safety and Fire Protection systems. You will have the opportunity to develop skills in specific areas of interest while ensuring adherence to quality standards through plan evaluations and technical documentation. Your projects may include, but are not limited to:
- Egress design
- Code research
- Smoke control system design
- Fire-resistant construction analysis
- Performance-based design
- Fire sprinkler design
- Hazardous material analysis
Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s degree in engineering or architecture required
• 0 to 3 years of relevant experience in Fire Protection and Life Safety
• Engineering in Training (EIT) Certification preferred
• Familiarity with Bluebeam, AutoCAD, REVIT, and Microsoft Suite is encouraged
• Experience with CONTAM, Pyrosim, FDS, and/or PathFinder is desirable
• Strong analytical skills and attention to detail
• Excellent communication and teamwork abilities
• Proficient written communication skills
