Pediatrician Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Pediatrician to join our team at CommuniCare Health Center.

Job Summary

The Pediatrician will be responsible for providing high-quality, comprehensive primary healthcare services to our patients, including in-patient and out-patient care. The ideal candidate will have excellent clinical skills, strong communication abilities, and a passion for delivering exceptional patient care.

Key Responsibilities
  • Examine, diagnose, and treat patients, prescribing medications and treatment regimens as necessary.
  • Maintain accurate and detailed patient records, adhering to our Health Information Management policies and procedures.
  • Provide timely and comprehensive medical services, ensuring continuity of care and efficient patient flow.
  • Refer patients to specialty care services, labs, and other ancillary services as needed.
  • Review lab and x-ray reports, making medical management decisions accordingly.
  • Maintain productivity standards, adhering to our established departmental policies and procedures.
  • Provide excellent customer service, responding to patient inquiries and concerns in a timely and professional manner.
  • Train and mentor students and clinical support staff, as needed.
  • Participate in health promotion, education, and prevention programs, attending clinic meetings and other functions as required.
Requirements
  • M.D. or D.O. degree from an accredited Medical School.
  • Current unrestricted license to practice Medicine in the State of Texas.
  • Annual continuing medical education as required by Board specialty.
  • Registration and current DEA, and other such certificates to legally operate a practitioner in the State of Texas.
  • Hospital privileges at designated area hospitals, if required for specialty.
  • Bilingual in English and Spanish, desired.
  • Certified in Basic Life Support (BLS), Instructor-Led by American Heart Association.
Physical and Mental Demands

The Pediatrician will be required to sit for 20-30% of the time and stand, walk for 70-80% of the time. The ability to lift up to 25 lbs, push and pull up to 45 lbs, and bend at the waist, twist, and turn along the axial plane is necessary.
