Job Summary

As a System/Commissioning Engineer for the Salem Power Uprate Project, you will provide technical support in the Engineering Services department. The successful candidate will perform duties such as sponsoring and implementing power uprate modifications, ensuring adequate systems integration, and fulfilling the role of plant systems subject matter experts.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assess the required scope of work and explore alternative solutions for required modifications.
  • Sponsor plant modifications through the plant approval process.
  • Fulfill the role of system lead engineer for modifications.
  • Ensure adequate systems integration and fulfill the role of plant systems subject matter experts.
  • Support changes to the Preventive maintenance and Surveillance Program.
  • Identify Critical Spare parts.
  • Support Operations and Maintenance technical procedural changes.
  • Prepare and/or support factory and plant startup testing.
  • Interface with Project Manager to ensure that Engineering deliverables meet the overall project goals.
  • Provide field support during modification walkdowns, installation, testing, and as-built verification.
  • Comply with regulatory requirements, including 50.59, License Amendment Request preparation, and any required supporting analysis.
  • Perform other assigned duties as determined by the Engineering Manager.
  • Assigned duties in the Emergency Response Organization.
Requirements

  • BS Degree in Mechanical, Civil, Controls, or related Engineering or related technical degree with 5 years of experience performing related Engineering work in a nuclear power plant or related industry.
  • Minimum 1 year of experience in controls system engineering.
  • Availability for shift work during installation.
  • Must meet Nuclear requirements for unescorted plant access.
  • Must possess a valid US driver's license and maintain a satisfactory driving record.
Preferred Qualifications

  • Power uprate experience at a pressurized water reactor (PWR).
  • Prior Design Engineering configuration control qualification.
  • Professional Engineering license (NJ or other state).
