Job Title: Automation & Process Control Engineer

**Job Summary:**

We are seeking a highly skilled Automation & Process Control Engineer to join our team at American Water. As a key member of our team, you will play a critical role in implementing, maintaining, and supporting our automation and process control infrastructure.

**Key Responsibilities:**

  • Implement, maintain, and support automation and process control infrastructure
  • Collaborate with design engineers, operations personnel, and other internal staff on project design, review, and commissioning
  • Develop programming and configuration code for process control systems
  • Review control logic strategies and implement programming changes to optimize control strategies
  • Perform maintenance activities on process control equipment and SCADA systems
  • Troubleshoot and resolve control system issues
  • Investigate new technological developments and processes
  • Research, recommend, and implement systems to enhance system functionality and reliability

**Requirements:**

  • Minimum 5 years of experience in process control systems, including SCADA and DCS, PLC/RTU programming, and HMI configuration
  • Strong knowledge of industrial control system platforms, including PLC/DCS/HMI programming/design/configuration
  • Experience with data communications systems, protocols, wired and wireless network systems, and radio telemetry
  • Strong organizational and time management skills with attention to detail
  • Excellent interpersonal, people, and people management skills
  • Ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects simultaneously and adapt to changes in priority efficiently
