The State Water Resources Control Board is seeking a highly skilled Environmental Scientist to join our dynamic team in the Ocean Standards Unit. As a key member of our team, you will play a critical role in developing statewide water quality control plans and policies, ensuring the protection of California's coastal waters and marine life.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop recommendations for beneficial uses of ocean waters, protective water quality objectives, and implementation programs using biological, chemical, and physical principles and information.
- Collaborate with an interdisciplinary team to develop and implement statewide water quality control plans and policies.
- Work closely with the Senior Environmental Scientist to ensure the successful execution of projects and programs.
- Conduct research and analysis to inform policy decisions and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
Requirements
- Essential personal qualifications including integrity, initiative, dependability, good judgment, and the ability to work cooperatively with others.
- Ability to perform the assigned duties of the class.
- Current and valid driver's license (if required for the position).
