About the Job

As a Medical Laboratory Scientist Specialist, you will play a critical role in delivering high-quality laboratory results in an efficient and cost-effective manner. This position requires a strong understanding of laboratory techniques, principles, and equipment, as well as excellent critical thinking and problem-solving skills.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform routine and complex analyses at a subject matter expert level
  • Exercise good judgment and use critical thinking skills to solve problems
  • Ensure specimens are accessioned and processed expeditiously
  • Serve as a role model and preceptor for staff and lead quality control initiatives
  • Collaborate with the patient care team to deliver comprehensive patient care
  • Orient, guide, and mentor team members and students
  • Participate in laboratory and organizational initiatives
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in a related field
  • Three years of experience in a clinical laboratory as a Medical Laboratory Scientist/Medical Technologist or comparable role
  • One of the following certifications: Certified as a Medical Technologist, Clinical Laboratory Scientist, Medical Laboratory Scientist, or categorical certification by Board of Certification (ASCP)
Preferred Qualifications
  • Preferred certification: Certified as a Medical Technologist by American Medical Technologists (AMT) or Certified as a Clinical Laboratory Scientist by National Credentialing Agency for Laboratory Personnel (NCA)
