Position Overview: Land Acquisition Procurement Manager


Lennar is on the lookout for a Land Acquisition Procurement Manager to engage in the development, negotiation, and execution of sourcing strategies for all labor and material expenditures within the land development sector, while providing support to the Director of Purchasing.

Your responsibilities will include overseeing contract administration personnel to guarantee that contracts are up-to-date, and that invoices and requisitions are processed accurately and promptly.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate the bidding process for land development construction projects.
  • Analyze incoming bids to determine the most qualified bidder and identify potential areas for cost savings.
  • Assist project managers by supplying current pricing information to ensure development budgets remain accurate and up-to-date.
  • Oversee the issuance of contracts and work orders, ensuring proper entry into the system and alignment with the correct budget and line items.
  • Assist in forecasting expenditures for cash flow modeling.
  • Monitor macro trends in the materials and supplier landscape, implementing strategies to address rising costs.
  • Develop new relationships with qualified vendors.
  • Manage vendor relationships to foster effective partnerships.
  • Process and disseminate purchasing-related information (e.g., bid documents, tabulations, forecasts, specifications, contracts) to ensure coordination with other departments.
  • Participate in regular staff meetings with division management and project managers.
  • Assist in preparing development cost estimates in collaboration with the acquisition team to assess the feasibility of land development opportunities.
  • Manage overlapping trade categories for land development and home construction, including but not limited to Excavation, Surveying, Concrete, SWPPPs, Fencing, and Landscaping.
  • Maintain purchasing information, files, and records to ensure documentation availability and compliance with company policies.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum high school diploma or equivalent required; college degree preferred.
  • At least 3 years of experience in land development, procurement, construction, and/or estimating.
  • Strong organizational and management skills with the ability to prioritize tasks and take initiative.
  • Ability to maintain timely and accurate paperwork flow.
  • Excellent time management skills.
  • Detail-oriented team player, comfortable in a fast-paced environment with a heavy workload.
  • Proficient in MS Office products (Word and Excel); experience with JD Edwards accounting systems and Build Pro software preferred.
  • Valid Driver's License with a good driving record required.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints and civil engineering plans.
