Community Access Services is a nonprofit organization dedicated to empowering individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities through compassionate, community-based support.
We are seeking a qualified Full-Time Direct Support Professional (DSP) to join our team.
Responsibilities:
- Provide direct care and support to individuals with disabilities, assisting with daily living skills, personal care, and household tasks.
- Support individuals in achieving personal goals and encourage their participation in community events and activities.
- Administer medications according to training and maintain accurate health and behavioral records.
- Foster a safe, clean, and respectful environment in the home or community settings.
- Communicate effectively with team members, families, and external providers to ensure high-quality, person-centered support.
- Participate in team meetings, training sessions, and professional development opportunities.
Requirements:
- High school diploma or GED equivalent
- Previous experience in caregiving, social work, or a related field preferred but not required; training is provided
- Compassionate, patient, and committed to advocating for individuals with disabilities
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Valid driver's license, reliable transportation, and eligibility to become a company driver
- Ability to pass a background check
- Capable of performing physical tasks required for the role, including lifting up to 50 lbs
