About the Role:
Advocate Aurora Health is seeking a skilled Surgical Technologist to join our team. As a Surgical Technologist, you will play a vital role in ensuring the smooth operation of our operating rooms.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare and maintain a clean and safe environment for surgical procedures.
- Utilize aseptic surgical techniques to prepare materials, supplies, and equipment for various surgical procedures.
- Assist surgeons and other medical staff during procedures.
- Maintain knowledge of various types of equipment used in the operating room.
- Ensure the environmental disinfection, safety, and efficiency of the operating room.
Requirements:
- Completion of an accredited or approved program in Surgical Technology.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers certification issued by the American Heart Association (AHA).
- Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills.
- Basic computer proficiency.
Working Conditions:
The Surgical Technologist will work in a fast-paced environment and be exposed to various hazards, including mechanical, electrical, chemical, radiation, blood, and body fluids. The ability to lift up to 50 pounds, push/pull with 30 pounds of force, and perform a sliding transfer of 150 pounds with a second person present is required.
