Carmel Hills Wellness & Rehabilitation is seeking a highly skilled Admissions Coordinator to join our team. As an Admissions Coordinator, you will play a critical role in maintaining admission guidelines, marketing programs, and ensuring a smooth transition for residents and their families.
Key Responsibilities- Maintain admission guidelines and participate in writing, updating, and recommending changes to admissions criteria, policies, and procedures.
- Market programs and facilities by preparing and providing information, answering questions, and conducting tours with prospective residents and referral sources.
- Handle walk-in or telephone inquiries and invite referral sources to the nursing center; follow up on inquiries by conducting tours of the center and providing residents' families with brochures about the nursing home, Medicare facts, and room rates.
- Obtain resident information by requesting completed applications and medical information; verify and clarify information by interviewing residents and family members.
- Ensure financial verification is accurate and complete before the resident is admitted to the facility, thus assisting in reducing accounts receivable.
- Screen prospective residents by comparing their condition to admission criteria; evaluate and accept or reject residents; refer residents and family to other programs and institutions.
- Resolve resident/family dissatisfactions by investigating concerns; recommend changes in service policies and procedures.
- Prepare admissions reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing data and trends.
- Conduct the admission process of signing in and explaining admission policies to residents and their families; ensure a smooth transition is achieved and that all paperwork is complete upon admission.
- Maintain necessary knowledge of served market areas, resident origin, and major referral sources.
- Assist with census development efforts by making quality contact with referral sources.
- Plan, coordinate, and execute community referral source events.
- Manage incoming inquiries, as needed, dependent on sales model.
- Use clinical inventory to evaluate residents for admission; visit prospective residents in the hospital and make assessments regarding their suitability for admission in the nursing center, when required.
- Partner with social services on room accommodation changes; provide families with orientation to the center, including a list of department heads, resident handbook, and/or interpret nursing home regulations to residents concerning visitors, visiting hours, and disposition of clothing and valuables.
- Effectively sell private transition days to current residents.
- May assist the Administrator in contacting families after admission and discharge to personally determine satisfaction; provide timely follow-up on family or guarantor complaints and problem-solve with residents and/or staff.
- College degree preferred.
- Sales experience, particularly in healthcare services, products, or pharmaceuticals, is desirable.
- Familiarity with long-term care and/or healthcare services is useful.
- Presents a professional image through appearance, behavior, and speech.
