Nurse Admission Specialist

HCA MidAmerica Health is seeking a skilled Registered Nurse to join our team in Independence, Missouri. As a Registered Nurse - Admission and Discharge, you will play a vital role in ensuring a seamless and efficient transition for patients coming in and out of acute care hospital settings.
Job Summary:The top priority for this role is delivering exceptional patient-centered care. You will be responsible for obtaining nursing assessments, ensuring proper inpatient care unit admission, and completing required documentation. Your main focus will be advocating for patients, families, and caregivers while embodying the organization's vision, mission, and values.
Responsibilities:- Obtain nursing assessments and ensure proper inpatient care unit admission.
- Complete and facilitate the completion of required documentation, such as admission assessments, risk assessments, medication reconciliation, discharge paperwork, and post-hospital documentation.
- Teach patients/families/caregivers about a patient's medical condition, patient status, treatment plan, medications, and possible side effects.
- Ensure patients/families/caregivers receive copies of discharge paperwork and any other documentation needed.
- Coordinate with House Supervisors/Nursing Administration to prioritize workload and identify greatest need areas to ensure smooth patient transitions.
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification must be obtained within 60 months of employment start date.
- Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) certification must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date.
- Registered Nurse (RN) licensure.
- Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) or Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN).

Our Outpatient Services include a Surgery Center, Advanced Wound Care Center, Pain Center, Sleep Disorder Center, Imaging, and Rehab.
