Job Summary

Hillpointe is a fully integrated real estate development and investment management firm focused on developing market-rate workforce housing across the Sun Belt. As a Senior Compliance Manager, you will play a critical role in ensuring the timely preparation and submission of building permits, managing records of permit activity, and responding to inquiries regarding permit status.

This position requires a strong understanding of construction methods and technologies, as well as the ability to interpret technical drawings and contracts, building code requirements, and ordinances. You will serve as the primary point of contact for utility engineers and ensure that all required project documentation is completed promptly and maintained in the appropriate master project files.

Key Responsibilities

  • Coordinate and communicate all activities related to the projects managed by the compliance department
  • Assist in managing and monitoring the timely preparation and submission of building permits
  • Manage records of permit activity and respond to inquiries regarding permit status
  • Proactively respond to requests for information and comments from review authorities
  • Ensure a timely response to review comments and requests for information
  • Coordinate new project planning and development process, including preconstruction planning, logistics, and compliance requirements
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for utility engineers
  • Ensure that all required project documentation is completed promptly and maintained in the appropriate master project files
  • Assist with coordinating deliverables to obtain necessary permits and licenses
  • Monitor compliance with building and safety codes and other regulations

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in a technical, business, or other related discipline required
  • Minimum three years of experience in construction management, engineering, or planning
  • Ability to read and comprehend project plans and documentation
  • Intermediate knowledge of land development and the construction industry
  • Knowledge of construction methods and technologies and ability to interpret technical drawings and contracts
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously with a constant eye on quality and compliance
  • Knowledge of job site safety practices required
  • Solid written and verbal communication and organizational skills
  • Strong working knowledge of Adobe and Microsoft desktop applications
  • Ability to remain calm, focused, and effective under time-sensitive circumstances
  • Strong time management, leadership, project, decision-making, and multitasking skills

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bilingual Spanish candidates are preferred
  • OSHA 10-hr and LEAD certification is a plus
  • A valid Driver's License is required
  • Some overnight travel may be required
