Job Summary:

As a Protection and Control Engineer at AVANGRID, you will be responsible for designing, configuring, maintaining, and renewing automation, data collection, protection, and control equipment subsystems on our electric delivery infrastructure in New England and New York. This includes approximately 8,600 miles of transmission lines and 1,000 substations.

Key Responsibilities:

Perform engineering design and analysis of electric transmission and substation protection systems relay settings in support of the capital program.
Conduct short-circuit analysis using Aspen Oneliner to perform relay settings calculations and relay coordination.
Review and approve work of engineering contractors who provide protection design services to ensure compliance with company standards, specifications, and contract requirements.
Oversee and manage execution of all aspects of NERC & NPCC compliance programs and other department initiatives as needed.

Requirements:

Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering / Technology.
Basic knowledge of power systems.
Awareness of national and international standards, regulations, and regulatory agencies.
