Job Overview

Position: Shift Supervisor
Company: Spark Packaging

Key Responsibilities:
  • Oversee the activities of the production team within the prepress department.
  • Develop and implement operational strategies to ensure the production crew meets company goals in safety, productivity, quality, cost, and profitability.
  • Monitor and be accountable for the key performance indicators of the production crew, including machine and labor efficiencies, while guiding team members to achieve performance targets.
  • Assist in the capacity planning process to fulfill both internal and external customer delivery requirements.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives and maintain established standard operating procedures.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional leaders to promote operational excellence through continuous improvement efforts.
  • Coach, develop, and engage team members while supporting employee relations and performance management for the production staff.
  • Manage and audit the setup and first piece approval process to ensure compliance with product quality specifications.
  • Apply a proactive approach to press changeovers and preventative maintenance programs to optimize machine performance.
  • Engage with key stakeholders to provide technical support and resolve any order-related issues or complaints.
  • Stay updated on industry trends and best practices by networking, attending relevant events, and reviewing professional literature.
  • Perform additional duties as required.
Qualifications:
  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • A minimum of five (5) years of experience in flexographic printing, with supervisory or lead experience essential.
  • Ability to lift up to 25 lbs occasionally, with the majority of time spent on the production floor; must be flexible to work a rotational schedule that includes weekends and shifts between day and night.
