Position Summary: We are a vibrant consulting firm focused on harnessing our strengths to foster innovation and excellence. Our dedicated team is committed to providing impactful solutions to our clients, and we are currently in search of a proficient Cybersecurity Systems Protection Specialist to ensure the security of Federal government IT environments. The successful candidate will spearhead and coordinate assessment and authorization (A&A), continuous monitoring, and risk management initiatives to protect client IT systems.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee A&A processes and ongoing monitoring efforts.
- Assist in Risk Management Framework (RMF) lifecycle activities, including planning, customizing security controls, and validating implementation.
- Employ tools such as Nessus, Qualys, Vulnerator, and STIG Viewer to facilitate A&A processes.
- Create and sustain A&A documentation, including System Security Plans (SSPs), Security Assessment Reports (SARs), Plans of Action and Milestones (POA&Ms), and Security Assessment Plans (SAPs) in the Cybersecurity Assessment and Management (CSAM) system.
- Collaborate with system stakeholders to evaluate and rectify system vulnerabilities.
- Ensure systems achieve and retain Authority to Operate (ATO).
- Engage in Architecture Review Boards to guarantee security requirements are integrated throughout the system lifecycle.
- Supervise and implement system operations and maintenance, including audit trail evaluations and continuous monitoring tasks.
- Contribute to configuration management and information system contingency planning.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related discipline.
- Relevant industry certifications: CASP, CAP, CISSP, CISM, GSEC, GMON, or Security+.
- A minimum of 4 years of experience in Information Assurance.
- In-depth knowledge of FISMA, OMB regulations, NIST standards, and tools such as Nessus and STIG Viewer.
- Exceptional communication and leadership abilities.
