About the Role:

We are seeking a highly skilled Software Development Engineering Manager to lead our team of software engineers in the design, development, and implementation of innovative software solutions for our customers. As a key member of our engineering team, you will be responsible for overseeing the development of software applications, ensuring timely delivery, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to drive project success.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead a team of software engineers in the design, development, and implementation of software solutions
  • Oversee the development of software applications, ensuring timely delivery and high-quality results
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including product management, quality assurance, and technical writing
  • Develop and maintain technical documentation, including design documents, technical specifications, and user manuals
  • Identify and prioritize project requirements, ensuring alignment with business objectives and customer needs
  • Develop and manage project schedules, budgets, and resource allocation
  • Ensure compliance with company policies, procedures, and industry standards
  • Stay up-to-date with industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices in software development

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field
  • At least 10 years of experience in software development, with a minimum of 5 years in a leadership role
  • Proven track record of delivering high-quality software solutions on time and within budget
  • Strong technical skills in software development, including programming languages, software design patterns, and agile methodologies
  • Excellent communication, leadership, and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, prioritize tasks, and manage multiple projects simultaneously
  • Experience with Atlassian tools, including Jira, Confluence, and Bitbucket
  • CI/CD pipeline experience
  • Self-starter with a strong sense of ownership and accountability

Desired Skills and Experience:

  • Experience with containerization, orchestration, and cloud computing
  • Knowledge of satellite operations, signal processing, digital communications theory, and network communications
  • Experience with Oracle database management
  • Unix shell scripting experience
  • Structured Query Language (SQL) experience
  • Lead software architecture design experience
  • RHEL 7.x and 8.x experience
