Position Overview

We are in search of a proficient Intermediate Software Engineer to become a vital part of our expanding team. In this capacity, you will play a key role in a dynamic operational program environment by creating new functionalities, troubleshooting and resolving issues, and providing support during real-time satellite launch events. This position offers the chance to maintain and enhance a satellite ground system in support of Mission Applications, Graphical User Interface (GUI) development, and Database interactions. Your responsibilities will encompass, but are not limited to:

  • Engaging in all aspects of the software design, development, and integration lifecycle for software and database modifications as identified by program personnel, particularly regarding Command and Telemetry processing. This involves analyzing change requests and requirements for new software capabilities; integrating software, COTS/GOTS; and implementing software using Java, C/C++, Python scripts, SQL, and NoSQL database applications, along with other programming tools.
  • Addressing technically complex challenges and proactively refining system requirements.
  • Assisting in rehearsals and activities on launch day.

Minimum Qualifications

Level 2:

  • 2 years of experience utilizing Java for software application development.

Level 3:

  • 5 years of experience utilizing Java for software application development.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in developing with the Spring Boot framework and related services. Proficiency in JavaScript frameworks (Angular, React, Vue, etc.). Familiarity with NoSQL databases (MongoDB, DynamoDB).
  • Experience mentoring junior engineers within an agile development team.
  • Experience in establishing/configuring continuous integration and continuous delivery (CI/CD) pipelines.
  • Experience with distributed version control systems, such as Git.
  • Experience working in an agile development environment.
  • Understanding of agile terminology, methodology, and lifecycle.
  • Experience developing Java applications using the Spring application framework.
  • Knowledge of Microservices architecture.
  • Experience with Splunk for log aggregation and monitoring.
  • Basic understanding of relational databases and SQL syntax.
  • Experience with space command and control operations and concepts, along with knowledge of satellite ground system principles.
  • Experience with Amazon Web Services (AWS) and its fundamental services.
  • Experience with Apache Camel messaging services.
  • Experience with JBoss Enterprise Application Platform for hosting, configuration, and deployment.
  • Experience with Oracle Database management and maintenance.

Education/Experience

  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent years of experience in lieu of a degree.

Clearance Requirement

  • Must possess an Active TS/SCI DoD security clearance AND an adjudicated CI Polygraph [U.S. Citizenship required].
