Join Our Team as a Transportation Technician Senior

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Transportation Technician Senior to join our team in the Design and Construction Section of District 3 in Caldwell. As a key member of our team, you will play a critical role in the development and construction of highway projects in our rapidly changing region.

About the Role

This is an entry-level position that marks the first step in the Transportation Technician Engineering Career Path series. We are looking for a self-starter who is enthusiastic about learning and growing with our team. As a Transportation Technician Senior, you will be responsible for:

  • Assessing contractor activities, including inspection, installation sequencing, schedule compliance, and contract requirements.
  • Inspecting and ensuring construction projects are built in accordance with contract plans and specifications.
  • Maintaining accurate daily records of work, including labor, equipment, materials, and quantities.
  • Coordinating, performing, and/or supervising technical engineering work in the field or office.
  • Testing asphalt, concrete, and aggregate materials and documenting data for highway design and construction projects.
Requirements

To qualify for this role, you must have at least 6 months of work experience in the following areas:

  • Using construction plans, blueprints, drawings, specifications, maps, charts, graphs, manuals, schematics, and/or GIS data.
  • Providing direction, training, or assistance to others on engineering, design, construction, roadway maintenance projects, or other applicable work assignments.
  • Identifying and organizing materials, tools, or equipment for construction, roadway maintenance, engineering design projects, and other applicable assignments.

You must also have a valid driver's license and good knowledge of computer systems and applications used in land surveying, engineering, and construction.
