Join Our Team as a Transportation Technician Senior

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Transportation Technician Senior to join our team in the Design and Construction Section of the Idaho Transportation Department. As a key member of our team, you will play a critical role in the development and construction of public infrastructure projects in Idaho.

About the Role

The Transportation Technician Senior will be responsible for providing technical support and guidance to our team members, ensuring that projects are completed on time and within budget. You will work closely with our engineers and other stakeholders to develop and implement construction plans, inspect and monitor construction activities, and ensure compliance with contract requirements.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide technical support and guidance to team members on construction plans, specifications, and contract requirements.
  • Inspect and monitor construction activities to ensure compliance with contract requirements and specifications.
  • Develop and implement construction plans, including scheduling, budgeting, and resource allocation.
  • Collaborate with engineers and other stakeholders to ensure that projects are completed on time and within budget.
  • Perform quality control and quality assurance activities to ensure that construction projects meet specifications and standards.
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need to have a strong understanding of construction plans, specifications, and contract requirements. You will also need to have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, as well as the ability to work effectively in a team environment.

Minimum qualifications include:

  • Good knowledge of computer systems and applications used in land surveying, engineering, and construction.
  • Proficiency in math and reading skills.

Applicants must have at least 6 months of work experience in the following areas:

  • Using construction plans, blueprints, drawings, specifications, maps, charts, graphs, manuals, schematics, and/or Geographical Information Systems (GIS) data.
  • Providing direction, training, or assistance to others on engineering, design, construction, roadway maintenance projects, or other applicable work assignments.
  • Identifying and organizing materials, tools, or equipment for construction, roadway maintenance, engineering design projects, and other applicable assignments.

A valid driver's license is also required.
