As a key member of our design team, you will be responsible for planning and conducting independent work requiring judgment in the evaluation, selection, application, and adaptation of electrical schematics, electrical distribution systems installation procedures, and criteria.
Key Responsibilities- Develop and implement electrical design solutions for complex systems and projects.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including engineering, project management, and manufacturing, to ensure design solutions meet business requirements.
- Design and coordinate work with drafters, designers, and engineers to ensure timely and accurate completion of projects.
- Provide technical direction to junior designers and drafters, and assume lead electrical drafter role on assigned projects.
- Plan, schedule, design electrical schematics and diagrams, and coordinate with engineers and project managers.
- Review job submittal packages, customer-furnished information to plan and design work, and make recommendations.
- Associate's degree in drafting/design and 2 years' experience.
- Proficient knowledge in computer-aided design (CAD) and SolidWorks software, programming languages, or other tools.
- Knowledge of the manufacturing industry and manufacturing processes.
- Knowledge of National Electrical Code (NEC), the National Safety Code (NSC), Uniform Building Code (UBC), International Building Code (IBC), national fire codes, and other construction codes; fire/life/safety systems.
- Strong organizational and multitasking skills.
- Ability to work individually and in a team environment.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- High degree of accuracy and attention to detail.
