JOB TITLE: Broadband Experience Consultant
DEPARTMENT: Retail Sales
JOB SUMMARY
- The Broadband Experience Consultant is tasked with promoting and selling Buckeye's offerings to both new and existing clientele while engaging them in an interactive retail environment. This role requires effective communication to inform customers about the features, benefits, and applications of all products and services provided by Buckeye.
- The Consultant conducts a thorough needs assessment, allowing them to guide customers in their purchasing decisions by recommending suitable technology solutions. They collaborate, educate, and demonstrate the advantages of the recommended packages while customers are present in the store.
- Maintaining a strong customer-centric approach both on and off the sales floor, the Consultant transforms every interaction into a positive experience and acts as a brand ambassador for all Buckeye products and services, while remaining informed about competitive offerings.
- As a team player, the Consultant builds rapport with colleagues and customers, balancing the needs of clients, coworkers, and Buckeye Broadband.
- This position reports directly to the assigned Supervisor of Broadband Experience, with no direct reports.
The Broadband Experience Consultant is responsible for the following:
- Delivering exceptional customer service during all interactions. Assessing customer needs and making suitable recommendations; establishing rapport with customers and colleagues;
- Exhibiting a strong understanding and enthusiasm for technology, particularly regarding Buckeye's products and services. Keeping up-to-date with detailed product knowledge, including competitor offerings;
- Adhering to strict standards for providing accurate information to customers regarding billing, cycles, procedures, products, and services;
- Ensuring precise completion of all assigned tasks, including customer order entry and documentation;
- Thriving in a fast-paced, high-volume environment, and, when necessary, covering multiple store locations within the operating area;
- Managing issue resolution through collaboration with customer operations management and ensuring follow-up with customers, along with warm hand-offs to other departments when required;
- Achieving 100% accuracy in verifying field appointment times with customers and rescheduling as needed;
- Overseeing store inventory, processing equipment transactions, and managing high volumes of cash and payment activities with a focus on enhancing the customer experience;
- Providing efficient and thorough service to customers in a positive manner as directed by the Management Team;
- Utilizing a PC workstation and/or tablet to access customer accounts to assist with their needs;
- Ensuring the confidentiality of all customer information;
- Actively promoting the sales and retention of the Company's services to achieve above-average monthly sales performance; collaborating with team members to meet store objectives;
- Addressing unauthorized use of the Company's products and services;
- Meeting the standards established by management;
- Participating in monthly department training and team meetings as assigned;
- Accurately using ADP and adhering to attendance protocols;
- Maintaining a neat and organized store; completing data entry tasks as assigned; performing miscellaneous departmental duties as required;
- Following and enforcing Company policies and procedures, including EEO guidelines and safety protocols;
- Performing any other miscellaneous departmental duties as needed.
Education and Experience
- High School Diploma or equivalent - required
- Familiarity with multiple computer operating systems (e.g., Windows, iOS, Android) - required

- Ability to work independently and maintain flexible hours - required
- 1-3 years of sales experience - preferred

WORKING CONDITIONS
- The Broadband Experience Consultant is an hourly, non-exempt position. Regular working hours may vary to meet departmental needs, including nights, weekends, and/or holidays;
- The Consultant may be assigned to any Buckeye Broadband location;
- Overtime may be assigned;
- Lunch and dinner breaks are assigned daily;
- To maintain high-quality customer service and employee training, the Company periodically monitors conversations between Consultants and customers;
- In performing essential job functions, the Consultant works with various office equipment, including telephones, personal computers, printers, fax machines, paper shredders, and copy machines;
- The Company maintains a drug-free workplace. All employees must adhere to the Company's drug-free workplace policies, including mandatory pre-employment testing and random testing throughout employment.
