Job Summary

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Registered Nurse (RN) or Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) to join our team. As a key member of our healthcare staff, you will provide high-quality nursing care to our clients, working collaboratively with our multidisciplinary team to ensure comprehensive treatment and support.

Responsibilities
  • Perform initial nursing assessments for clients within 24 hours of admission, adhering to established program policies and state regulations.
  • Arrange appointments with healthcare providers to secure physical examinations, health screenings, and necessary tests.
  • Administer medications and supervise self-administered medications, ensuring compliance with regulations and agency policies.
  • Maintain accurate records of medical supplies and inventory, adhering to governing regulations and agency standards.
  • Counsel clients on nutrition, healthcare, self-care, and symptom management.
  • Ensure clients have adequate medical coverage, guaranteeing safety, adequate care, and provider compliance for payment.
  • Implement health seminars on topics such as HIV/AIDS, nutrition, medication education, infectious diseases, and mental health.
  • Participate in treatment and multidisciplinary team meetings, as directed.
  • Implement and ensure adherence to infection control policies and practices.
  • Provide education to clients on health, nutrition, safety, and medication compliance.
  • Maintain LPN license with good standing.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned by the Nurse Manager or designee.
Working Conditions
  • Required to work weekends at least once a month, including one off-shift per week, to ensure program coverage.
  • May be required to work shifts outside of assigned shifts during critical staffing shortages.
  • The minimum holiday requirement is 1 major summer holiday and 1 major winter holiday.
  • This position is deemed essential and will be required to work during inclement weather.
  • For Gaudenzia sites with multiple programs, you may be required to work in any of the programs based on staffing needs.

Qualifications

To be considered for this role, you must have a graduate degree from an accredited school of practical nursing and a valid LPN or RN license in good standing. New graduates and newly licensed LPNs and RNs are encouraged to apply, as direct job experience is not a requirement for this position.
