Job Summary

We are seeking a Senior Licensed Practical Nurse to join our team at the Robert H. Jenkins State Domiciliary Veterans' Home in Lake City, FL. As a Senior Licensed Practical Nurse, you will be responsible for providing quality care to our residents, ensuring their health, safety, and security in accordance with established agency Standard Operating Procedures and Nurse Practice Act.

Responsibilities
  • Administer medications and treatments per MD order
  • Monitor and provide interventions to meet the needs of the resident
  • Complete accurate clinical documentation reflective of resident's current status
  • Supervise CNA and other supportive care giver
  • Report resident concerns and needs promptly to the appropriate team member
  • Assist with monitoring and accountability of residents to enable medical personnel to accomplish health-related tasks
  • Follow Resident's Rights policies at all times and maintain confidentiality of resident information
  • Consistently work cooperatively and respectfully with residents, family or resident representatives, facility staff, physicians, ARNP's, consultants and ancillary service providers
  • Document services and care plan outcomes appropriately within the facility software/database
  • Participate in staff development and orientation of new personnel
  • Attend all in-service programs, training classes and domiciliary meetings
  • Assume responsibility and accountability for information contained in the Employee Handbook
  • Observe all facility safety, infection control, risk management, HIPAA policies
Requirements
  • Licensure in Florida as Practical Nurse
  • Must possess a current CPR certification
  • Must be willing and able to work weekends and holidays as required
  • Must be willing and able to lift 50 pounds
  • Must be able to communicate effectively in English: reading, speaking and writing
  • Must be willing and able to work 11:30pm-8:00am
  • Successful completion of the due diligence process to include, but not limited to, a Level II background check and drug test
Preferred Qualifications
  • One (1) year of experience in long-term care or 120 bed skilled nursing facility
  • Knowledgeable in the use of Microsoft Office software, including Excel, Outlook, and Word
  • Experience with Electronic Medical Records
