Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Senior Licensed Practical Nurse to join our team at the Clifford C. Sims State Veterans' Nursing Home. As a key member of our nursing staff, you will provide high-quality care to our residents, ensuring their health, safety, and security in accordance with established agency Standard Operating Procedures and Nurse Practice Act.

Responsibilities
  • Provide administrative support through established nursing standards, individualized care plans, and interdisciplinary teamwork.
  • Coordinate shift assignments, supervise licensed and unlicensed staff, and ensure completion of assignments.
  • Assist with all aspects of resident care, treatments, self-administration of medications, and coordinate medical appointments.
  • Report resident concerns and needs promptly to the appropriate team member.
  • Monitor and account for residents to enable medical personnel to accomplish health-related tasks.
  • Follow Resident's Rights policies and maintain confidentiality of resident information.
  • Work cooperatively and respectfully with residents, family members, facility staff, physicians, and other healthcare providers.
  • Document services and care plan outcomes appropriately within the facility software/database.
  • Participate in staff development and orientation of new personnel.
  • Attend in-service programs, training classes, and domiciliary meetings.
Requirements
  • Valid State of Florida Licensed Practical Nurse licensure.
  • Valid CPR certification.
  • Ability to communicate effectively in English: reading, writing, speaking, and understanding.
  • Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills.
  • Successful completion of the due diligence process, including a Level II background check and drug screen.
Preferred Qualifications
  • One year of experience in long-term care/120-bed skilled nursing facility, with a geriatric population.
  • One year of experience providing practical nursing services.
  • Experience with Electronic Medical Records.
  • Experience passing medications in a skilled nursing facility.
  • Knowledgeable in the use of computer applications: Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel).
