Cedars-Sinai is seeking a highly skilled Certified Nurse Midwife to join our Obstetrics and Gynecology team. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for providing expert care to patients throughout their pregnancy, labor, and postpartum journey.
Key Responsibilities- Provide individualized care to patients, upholding Cedars-Sinai's philosophies and standards of care.
- Identify and manage basic and advanced fetal heart rate tracings, including early, late, variable, and sinusoidal patterns.
- Initiate appropriate nursing interventions and communicate effectively with primary MD, charge RN, and chief residents.
- Perform specialized procedures, including NST, CST, internal fetal monitoring, and assisting with operative procedures.
- Provide expertise in labor management, delivery, and recovery, teaching staff on medication use and cervical ripening agents.
- Utilize protocols and guidelines, documenting dosage, side effects, and interventions.
- Provide labor support to patients and family members, attending to psychological and social needs.
- Role model best practices for staff, providing education and emotional support during labor.
- Implement emergency and maintenance measures independently and in collaboration with perinatologists, neonatologists, house staff physicians, and anesthesiologists.
- Two plus years' experience as a Certified Nurse Midwife (CNM).
- Master of Nursing Degree.
- Current State of California Registered Nurse.
- National Certification for Certified Nurse Midwife.
- Current DEA license.
- Basic Life Support (BLS).
