Clinical Laboratory Technologist Coordinator

As a Clinical Laboratory Technologist Coordinator at Upstate University Hospital, you will be responsible for performing various hematology and chemistry automated, semi-automated, and manual procedures as defined by the CP Core Lab procedure manual. You will assume the responsibility as lead technologist of differentials and cell counts, including equipment/method troubleshooting, supply inventory, writing and reviewing procedures, training new staff and students in conjunction with the supervisor.
Key Responsibilities:
• Perform hematology and chemistry automated, semi-automated, and manual procedures
• Assume responsibility as lead technologist of differentials and cell counts
• Troubleshoot equipment and methods
• Manage supply inventory
• Write and review procedures
• Train new staff and students
Requirements:
NYS Licensed/eligible to practice as a Clinical Laboratory Technologist, a Master's Degree in one of the chemical, physical, or biological sciences, with two years of Clinical Laboratory experience focusing in Hematology and/or Chemistry OR NYS Licensed/eligible to practice as a Clinical Laboratory Technologist, and a minimum of four years of Clinical Laboratory experience focusing in Hematology and/or Chemistry, Ability to distinguish colors required.
Preferred Qualifications:
ASCP Specialty in Hematology.
Work Schedule:
Monday through Friday, Days with rotating weekends and holidays.
