Job Summary

As a Hospital Pharmacy Director, you will oversee the delivery of pharmacy services, develop and implement policies and procedures, and ensure compliance with hospital, state, and federal regulations. You will lead a team of pharmacists and technicians, providing training and guidance to ensure quality patient care and high customer satisfaction.

About the Role

This is a unique opportunity to work in a hybrid environment, combining community retail with rural institutional experience. You will have the chance to maximize patient outreach through MTM, diabetes clinics, and assisting elderly patients with Medicare plan selection. In the institutional setting, you will provide inpatient care, direct P&T meetings, and participate in Quality Improvement programs.

Responsibilities

• Oversees all functions related to delivery of pharmacy services
• Develops, recommends, and implements pharmacy policies and procedures
• Ensures pharmacy operations are compliant with hospital policies and procedures
• Ensures pharmacy operations are in compliance with state and federal laws and regulations
• Completes Pharmacy Operational Reviews with Hospital Administration
• Orders pharmaceuticals as needed to maintain inventory levels
• Provides training and guidance to personnel to ensure quality of patient care and high level of customer satisfaction
• Remains knowledgeable of the latest research developments concerning new drugs and drug usage
• Maintains contact with other department needs, medical staff, and nursing staff to determine needs, resolve problems, improve processes, and promote effective drug therapy
• Leads and directs the work of others
• Develops staff in a mentoring and coaching way
• Relies on extensive experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals
• Uses a wide degree of creativity and latitude is expected
• Performs other tasks as assigned

Requirements

• Advanced degree in Pharmacy required
• Master of Science in Pharmacy or Pharm D preferred
• (3) years of experience in discipline is preferred
• Ten years of experience in discipline preferred
• Knowledge of principals related to pharmaceutical preparation and practices
• Licensed Pharmacist listed by the State Board of Pharmacy
• Two years' experience as a pharmacist
• Minimum one year management experience
• Strong leadership skills

What We Offer

This is an excellent practice for the pharmacist who still enjoys interacting with patients and desires a setting to use and expand their clinical knowledge. The candidate will also have access to resources and is supported by a local designated Senior Director of Operations with the PharMerica Hospital Services Division. The position is offered at full time Monday through Friday from 8:30 am to 5:30 pm, with an hour lunch.

Salary Range

USD $80.00 / Hour
