Strategic Commercial Lending Specialist

About the Role
We are seeking a highly skilled Strategic Commercial Lending Specialist to join our team at Umpqua Bank. As a key member of our commercial lending division, you will play a vital role in analyzing credit requests, identifying key business and financial risks, and providing accurate credit recommendations.
Your Responsibilities
- Analyze business, industry, and financial data to identify key business and financial risks that may impact repayment prospects.
- Prepare timely, concise, and accurate credit recommendations, including quantitative components, risk rating scoring models, and accurate loan coding.
- Monitor borrower financial performance in line with commercial and/or real estate loan documents, ensuring accurate covenant calculations and compliance with approval conditions.
- Partner with Client Solutions Managers and Relationship Managers to offer insights into customer financial needs and provide opinions on loan structures to mitigate risks.
- May oversee the work of other commercial underwriters or credit analysts, reviewing credit reports to ensure high quality and providing guidance and training.
- Demonstrate compliance with all bank regulations and apply designated job responsibilities.
- Follow all Bank policies and procedures, compliance regulations, and complete required annual or job-specific training.
- Maintain a working knowledge of Bank's written policies and procedures regarding Bank Secrecy Act, Regulation CC, Regulation E, Bank Security, and other regulations.
- May be asked to coach, mentor, or train others and teach coursework as subject matter expert.

Requirements and Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Business, Finance, Accounting, or equivalent work experience.
- 7-10 years of commercial underwriting/credit analysis experience or relevant lending experience required.
- Advanced analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Advanced credit and credit quality skills, including accounting, financial statement spreading, and cash flow analysis experience.
- Demonstrated time management skills, reflecting the ability to juggle multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Ability to work effectively with individuals and groups across the company.
- Possess excellent written, verbal, interpersonal, and presentation skills.
- Advanced knowledge of credit policies, procedures, practices, and documentation.
Compensation and Benefits
The estimated salary for this position is $86,136 - $124,248, based on industry standards and market research.
