We are seeking a highly skilled Network Technician to join our team at TekStream Solutions. As a Network Technician, you will play a critical role in supporting our computer data communications systems, providing design specifications, testing, and inspections for computer networks, and analyzing and organizing corresponding hardware and software solutions through network modeling.
Key Responsibilities- Network Support and Maintenance: Provide technical support and maintenance for our LAN/WAN devices, ensuring they are functioning optimally and efficiently.
- Incident Resolution: Respond to and resolve incidents in a timely and effective manner, demonstrating strong troubleshooting skills and excellent communication with the team.
- Task Completion: Complete assigned tasks within Service Level Objectives/Agreements (SLOs/SLAs), ensuring high-quality results and meeting deadlines.
- Standard Network Change Requests: Draft and implement standard network change requests, ensuring seamless integration with existing systems.
- Support to Tier III Network Engineers: Provide support to Tier III network engineers for incident management and projects, including site surveys, TEMS, and equipment installation.
- Configuration Management: Perform configuration management functions, including updating topology drawings, ensuring accurate asset management records, and conducting inventory.
- Network Operations: Coordinate network operations, maintenance, repairs, or upgrades, with a focus on CISCO/Juniper RMA processes.
- Layer 1 Network Experience: Possess experience with Layer 1 network components, including CAT5/6, SM/MM Fiber, Serial cables, and SFP.
- Layer 2 Network Experience: Have experience with Layer 2 network components, including switches, routers, MAC addresses, VLANs, port security, and thin and thick configurations.
- Layer 3 Network Experience: Possess experience with Layer 3 network components, including subnetting, OSPF, BGP, HSRP, MPLS, LSP, and GRE.
- Switching and Routing: Configure and troubleshoot layer 2 switching, including VLANs, port security, and thin configurations.
- IOS Upgrades: Perform IOS upgrades for Cisco, Juniper, Brocade, and Foundry OS.
- Technical Skills: Possess experience with Visio, ServiceNow, and Confluence.
- Clearance: TS/SCI with Poly clearance.
- Experience: A minimum of 16 years of experience, which can be a combination of work history and education.
- Qualifications: Compliance with Department of Defense (DoD) 8570 Information Assurance Technical (IAT) Level 2.
- Additional Requirements: Available to travel up to 20% of the time, available to work flexible hours, including weekend support, and ability to work independently and in a collaborative environment.
