Job Summary:

This position supports American Oncology Network LLC in providing high-quality patient care in a clinic or hospital setting. The successful candidate will have experience in IV therapy and hematology/oncology patients, with strong critical thinking skills and the ability to react calmly and effectively in emergency situations.

Key Responsibilities:

• Safely and accurately mix and administer chemotherapeutic agents to patients as ordered by Company physicians, using ONS standards and guidelines.
• Accurately and safely dispose of biohazardous waste, per OSHA and HRS guidelines.
• Perform ongoing patient assessment and documentation in OncoEMR, ensuring appropriate charges are captured and following guidelines for administration of all medications.
• Follow the Company's I.D. policy and procedure with every patient encounter, and interact with patients and family in a caring, professional manner.
• Teach chemotherapy classes as needed, educating patients and family about medications, side effects, and planned treatment course.
• Provide telephone triage, prioritizing incoming calls and messages from patients, family members, hospitals, nursing facilities, pharmacies, and physician offices, responding accordingly in an appropriate time frame.
• Assist with inventory and re-stocking medical supplies, recommending purchase of new items as needed, and placing stock in storage areas in a timely manner.
• Have working knowledge of dispensing medications via Nucleus, perform cycle count, restock medications within appropriate time frame, and enter all appropriate patient charges into Nucleus.
• Attend annual Safety/OSHA training meetings, attend all mandatory staff meetings as necessary, and maintain and ensure the confidentiality of all patient and employee information at all times.
• Assist in training new employees to related job duties, and be expected to work at any Company location to help meet the Company's business needs.

Requirements:

• Registered Nurse, licensed in the State of employment, with experience in IV therapy.
• Experience with hematology/oncology patients in a clinic or hospital is required.
• Ability to assess patient needs and condition is essential, with strong critical thinking skills and the ability to react calmly and effectively in emergency situations.
• Current CPR & BLS certifications are required.
• Fluency in the English language with excellent oral and written communication skills is required.
• Valid Driver's license, in state of residency, for travel to clinics.
