The Department of Social and Health Services (DSHS) is seeking a skilled Vocational Rehabilitation Counselor to join our team. You will provide vocational rehabilitation counseling and case management services to assist people with disabilities in obtaining and maintaining employment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide vocational rehabilitation counseling and case management services to individuals with disabilities
- Conduct comprehensive assessments of customer needs and develop individualized plans for employment (IPEs)
- Assist customers in developing and implementing IPEs and monitor progress toward employment goals
- Collaborate with other agencies and service providers to provide comprehensive services to customers
- Lead group orientations, workshops, and related activities to facilitate informed choices and prepare customers for employment
Requirements:
- Master's degree in rehabilitation counseling, psychology, social work, or a related field
- Current certification as a Rehabilitation Counselor by the Commission on Rehabilitation Counselor Certification (CRCC)
- 6 months of paid or unpaid vocational counseling or assessment, job placement, or other areas of rehabilitation counseling experience
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience working with individuals with disabilities in a vocational rehabilitation setting
- Knowledge of labor market information, transferable skills evaluations, assistive technology, and job modifications
- Ability to communicate effectively with customers, colleagues, and other stakeholders
