Thoracic Surgery Physician Assistant

Job SummaryWe're seeking an experienced Physician Assistant or Acute Care Nurse Practitioner to join our Thoracic Surgery team. This is a hybrid position that will work approximately 50% time in both inpatient and outpatient settings, including occasional travel to external clinic sites within the metroplex.
Responsibilities- Conduct comprehensive initial and ongoing physical examinations, including psychological status.
- Develop, implement, and evaluate patient plans of care, including ordering and interpreting laboratory, radiology, and other diagnostic studies/results.
- Provide relevant management, referrals, counseling, and education to patients, families, and caregivers related to current care and preventive health measures.
- Collaborate with the team to improve clinical and system practice performance.
- Graduate of a master's degree or higher Accreditation Review Commission on Education for the Physician (ARC-PA) accredited Physician Assistant program.
- OR Master's degree or higher in nursing, documentation of completion of accredited Advanced Practice Education Program.
- Certification by the National Commission of Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA) or licensure as Advanced Practice Registered Nurse by Texas State Board of Nursing.
- Current applicable American Heart Association Life Support certification(s) based on UT Southwestern policy for Advanced Practice Providers.
