We are seeking a highly skilled Speech Therapist to join our team at the Dallas Independent School District. As a Speech Therapist, you will provide speech therapy services to students on assigned caseloads, conduct speech and language assessments, and participate in ARD/IEP committee meetings.
Key Responsibilities- Provide speech therapy services to students on assigned caseloads
- Conduct speech and language assessments and consultations in varied settings
- Participate in ARD/IEP committee meetings for students needing speech therapy services
- Attend MTSS/SST meetings for students referred for speech and language concerns
- Refer students for additional evaluations and consultations as needed
- Coordinate the placement and speech therapy services for Neighborhood School Speech (NSS) students
- Provide consultation and education to parents, caregivers, staff, and other professionals regarding speech and language disorders and/or speech therapy services
- Interpret and explain test results to ARD/IEP committees
- Develop therapy plans for students based on their IEPs and curricula
- Maintain all required documentation, including progress notes, progress reports, and evaluation reports
- Regularly report progress to parents per ARD committee determination
- Comply with the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA), the Texas Education Agency (TEA), and TDLR rules concerning the provision of special education related services for speech and language
- Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology or related field
- Valid Texas teaching certificate or license
- Experience working with students with speech and language disorders
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
