By adopting a hands-on and pragmatic approach, the Chief Technology Officer guides all IT personnel to achieve the strategic objectives of the organization. As a seasoned business and technical leader, this individual will exemplify leadership through their readiness to engage directly in operations while proactively designing scalable systems, processes, and protocols that address the needs, risks, challenges, and opportunities of a rapidly expanding organization. A background in retail and supply chain management is essential.

Key Responsibilities
  • Defining Furnitureland South's technological vision and spearheading all dimensions of the Company's tech evolution.
  • Overseeing the ongoing integration of the Company's ERP system to ensure successful implementation and migration, including the addition of new modules.
  • Consulting with department heads to recommend technologies that enhance operational efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Formulating and presenting a comprehensive Digital Transformation strategy to FLS Executive Leadership, focusing on short- and long-term IT modernization initiatives, including support for Artificial Intelligence.
  • Ensuring that IT projects are effectively managed, within budget constraints, and adhere to realistic timelines, while providing regular updates to senior leadership.
  • Conducting research and providing thought leadership on cutting-edge technologies to assess new equipment, software, and processes for potential implementation.
  • Identifying technology trends and shifts in social behavior that could influence the business's success, including the integration of Artificial Intelligence in the workplace.
  • Developing policies and proposing long-term strategies for leveraging information technology across the organization.
  • Recruiting, inspiring, and nurturing a high-performing team of IT professionals; fostering creativity, driving performance, and ensuring a collaborative environment throughout the organization while maintaining accountability.
  • Collaborating with consultants, advisory teams, technology vendors, and other relevant experts to inform executive leadership on technological advancements.
  • Safeguarding the security of all company data and ensuring comprehensive backup systems are in place to mitigate risks of failure or disaster.
  • Overseeing the acquisition, installation, and maintenance of all necessary computer hardware and software to ensure operational continuity.
  • Implementing robust practices for vendor management, contracting, and ongoing system and application support.
  • Providing leadership and executing all functions related to the management and development of IT personnel.
  • Establishing, maintaining, and enforcing written policies and procedures governing all computer and systems operations within the organization.
  • This is an onsite position.
Qualifications

The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 10 years of experience in various aspects of computer operations, with at least 5 years in managerial and strategic roles. Key qualifications include:
  • Bachelor's degree in Information Technology or a related field.
  • Extensive technical knowledge encompassing hardware, software, databases, networking, and communication systems.
  • Experience in creating a 3-5 year IT roadmap.
  • In-depth understanding of cloud technologies (AWS, Azure), ERP systems (preferably NetSuite), Business Intelligence, and Data Analytics.
  • Experience with ERP upgrades and eCommerce implementations.
  • Proven track record in developing a creative vision, strategic planning, staff development, project management, and budget oversight.
  • Demonstrated leadership capabilities, including organizational development, coaching, mentoring, influencing, and negotiation skills.
  • Strong business acumen with a history of contributing strategically to business outcomes and implementing process enhancements.
  • Proficient vendor/partner management skills with a successful history in contract negotiations.
  • Strategic thinking and analytical problem-solving abilities, along with high emotional intelligence and maturity.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with experience presenting to senior executives and conveying objectives to teams.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Master's degree in Information Technology or Business Administration.
  • Over 10 years of experience in technology management.
Work Environment

This position operates within a professional office setting, routinely utilizing standard office equipment such as laptops, photocopiers, and smartphones.

Minimal travel may be required.
