Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Machinist to join our team at Modern Hydrogen. As a key member of our Engineering team, you will be responsible for operating high-precision machines and producing complex production and prototype parts to exacting design specifications.

Key Responsibilities
  • Operate manual and CNC machines to produce high-quality, precision parts and tooling
  • Handle material from rough stock to finished parts, ensuring accurate and timely completion of tasks
  • Set up and operate conversational equipment, including ProtoTrak Lathe and Mill
  • Design and fabricate custom tools and fixtures to support machining operations
  • Collaborate with engineers and designers to develop and implement machining and fabrication strategies
  • Assist in maintaining shop equipment, inventory, and supplies, ensuring a safe and efficient work environment
  • Train coworkers on machine shop equipment and safety procedures
  • Perform other duties as assigned to support the team's goals and objectives
Requirements
  • 6-10 years of experience as a prototype machinist in a commercial environment
  • Hands-on experience with manual and CNC machines, including ProtoTrak Lathe and Mill
  • Experience with metrology tools, such as gauges, calipers, and micrometers
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to work independently
  • Impeccable written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and adapt to changing priorities
Preferred Qualifications
  • Vocational Technical Training
  • Experience working in a startup environment
  • Experience using and maintaining CNC machines and TRAK mill/lathe
  • Knowledge of multi-axis CNC milling and turning
  • Experience with modern CAM software, such as Autodesk-Fusion 360 or MasterCAM
