General Overview:

The Rail Maintenance Training Coordinator is responsible for the development, management, and execution of diverse training programs related to rail maintenance within the Dallas Area Rapid Transit (DART) Light Rail Operations Department.

Key Responsibilities:

PRIMARY DUTIES INCLUDE:

Oversee intricate tasks associated with technical assignments; manage complex maintenance initiatives; serve as the Contacting Officer's Representative (COR) as designated. Formulate cost estimates, timelines, and financial plans. Facilitate, oversee, and coordinate the Maintenance and Supervision Training Program (MTP). Design and implement training strategies that align with organizational objectives. Create career advancement pathways for both entry-level and experienced personnel within the MTP. Provide in-person instruction on advanced, sophisticated equipment. Evaluate and update MTP lesson plans, educational materials, and course documentation. Establish training goals, technical assessments, and needs evaluations. Offer guidance for the formulation and execution of training policies, procedures, and financial plans. Responsible for the execution and formulation of training policies, procedures, and financial plans. Manage Computer-Based Training programs. Assist with the Learning Management System (LMS). Support project development and asset configuration management modifications. Provide project management, facilitation, and administrative assistance for the professional growth of supervisors and managers. Perform additional related duties as required.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

Note: A combination of relevant education and experience may be accepted in lieu of the stated minimums, excluding High School Diploma, GED, Licenses, or Certifications.

Associate's Degree from an accredited institution in Automotive Technology, Business Education, Electrical, Electronic Technology, Engineering, Mechanical, or a related field (curriculum development, engineering, heavy equipment, automotive, electrical, electronic, signal maintenance, occupational technology, etc.). Six (6) years of progressive maintenance experience in a technical setting, including experience in a maintenance area on equipment (e.g., LRT system, bus/coach maintenance, heavy equipment, Rail vehicle, or maintenance support) utilized within DART, with at least two (2) years of supervisory experience overseeing support staff and/or subordinate personnel. Must successfully complete two (2) practical exercises demonstrating the ability to follow written procedures, navigate a computer, and communicate effectively in writing. Must possess a valid Class-C Driver's License and be able to obtain a Texas Commercial Driver's License (CDL) Class-A Restricted within 90 days of employment; no Driving While Intoxicated (DWI) convictions within the last sixty (60) consecutive months, not more than one (1) DWI/DUI on driving record, and not more than three (3) moving violations within the last thirty-six (36) consecutive months to operate DART non-revenue vehicles. Must pass a Department of Transportation (DOT) physical examination, including a drug screening, to operate DART revenue and non-revenue vehicles; incumbents are subject to federal testing regulations for safety-sensitive positions, which include random alcohol and drug testing as a condition of continued employment. Ability to demonstrate a fiduciary obligation and integrity in handling confidential materials and information. Proficiency in using personal computers (PC) and software applications such as word processing, spreadsheets, and databases, along with knowledge of audio-visual and instructional equipment and processes. Ability to work irregular hours and be available on short notice; occasional travel may be necessary. Demonstrates the ability to conduct effective training evaluations. Demonstrates the ability to develop and assess conceptual ideas into Training Plans, Facilitator Guides, Lesson Plans, Measurement Devices, and Learner Guides. Ability to be dedicated to meeting the expectations and requirements of internal and external customers. WORKING ENVIRONMENT:

The role involves working in an environment with exposure to dust, noise, and temperature variations. May encounter challenging working conditions, including dust, noise, temperature fluctuations, weather elements, petroleum products, and chemicals, provided that all safety policies, procedures, and precautions are observed, along with the use of all protective equipment and clothing provided.
