We are seeking a skilled Orbital Operations Engineer to join our talented team. This role involves supporting sophisticated systems within the aerospace domain, focusing on satellite situational awareness and operational analysis. The successful candidate will engage in orbit determination and satellite characterization, utilizing diverse data sources and analytical tools.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct algorithm development, quantitative assessments, and decision-making analyses to enhance system performance.
- Develop models and simulations to support national security space initiatives, ensuring thorough technical planning and system integration.
- Collaborate with software engineering teams to validate and implement analytical models, contributing to user capability enhancements.
- Innovate new algorithms and refine existing tools to improve analytical processes.
- Engage with clients and provide insights to project managers regarding technical and programmatic deliverables.
- Possibly lead specific technical aspects of projects, ensuring alignment with organizational goals.
- Perform additional tasks and responsibilities as required.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree with a minimum of 4 years of relevant experience, or an Associate's Degree with 8 years of experience, or a graduate degree with 2 years of experience, or a combination of education and experience.
- At least 3 years of experience in spacecraft operations.
- Possession of an active TS/SCI security clearance.
- Experience in requirements development, space vehicle design, and mission operations.
Preferred Skills:
- Proficiency in software tools such as STK/Astrogator and MATLAB.
- Familiarity with programming languages including Python and Java, as well as UNIX/Linux environments.
- Experience in modeling, simulation, and analysis related to national security space challenges.
- Knowledge of both Waterfall and Agile methodologies in systems engineering.
- Ability to work collaboratively with software development teams.
- Understanding of data exchange formats such as JSON and XML.
- Competence in Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
Security Clearance Requirement:
This position necessitates a TS/SCI Security clearance. Only U.S. citizens are eligible for security clearances, and candidates may undergo government security investigations to meet the criteria for access to classified information.
