Job Overview:
The role of Custodian I is essential for maintaining a clean, safe, and appealing facility. This position is responsible for ensuring that adequate arrangements are made for meetings, classroom activities, and events while minimizing property damage and liability risks.
Key Responsibilities:
- Organizes furniture and equipment to ensure proper setup for meetings and events.
- Cleans various school facilities, including classrooms, offices, and common areas, to uphold a sanitary and inviting environment.
- Delivers a range of items such as supplies and packages to designated locations.
- Provides guidance to students and staff regarding safety and proper facility maintenance.
- Secures the premises to prevent property damage and ensure safety.
Additional Duties:
- Conducts minor repairs on furniture and equipment to maintain functionality and safety.
- Requests necessary supplies to ensure the availability of cleaning materials.
- Participates in meetings and training sessions to enhance communication and operational efficiency.
Qualifications:
Skills and Knowledge:
Ability to effectively use cleaning agents and equipment, communicate clearly, and build positive relationships with students, staff, and parents. Basic reading and math skills are necessary for the safe use of cleaning materials.
Physical Requirements:
Must be able to stand for extended periods, follow instructions, maintain accurate records, and perform various physical tasks, including lifting and carrying.
Licenses and Certifications:
Valid Driver's License, Criminal Justice Fingerprint Clearance, Health Physical Examination, and Tuberculosis Testing/Clearance are required.
