POSITION OVERVIEW AND REQUIREMENTS: As a vital member of our organization, the Voice Systems Educator will deliver engaging classroom training to equip Information Management Specialists (IMS), Information Management Technical Specialists (IMTS), locally engaged staff (LES), Diplomatic Security (DS), and personnel from various U.S. Government agencies with knowledge on a range of voice and data networking systems and associated technologies.

LOCATION OF POSITION: Candidates should be prepared for potential travel opportunities.

ESSENTIAL CERTIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE INCLUDE:
  • A minimum of five years of experience and proficiency in voice systems engineering, standard installation practices, and operational maintenance procedures is essential. Experience in delivering instructional content in an adult learning environment is required. Instructors should exhibit dynamic presentation skills.
  • Background knowledge in voice and data systems infrastructure.
  • Familiarity with telephony and networking terminology, along with industry standards, is crucial. The ability to convey these concepts to individuals with novice-level understanding is necessary.
  • Experience in instructing on voice and/or data networking.
  • Proficiency in programming and maintaining Avaya switch systems, including CS1000E Call Server. Vendor certification is preferred.
  • Expertise in programming and maintaining voicemail systems such as Call Pilot or Cisco Unity Connection.
  • Creation and/or delivery of online digital training content.
  • Ability to identify and resolve quality of service (QOS), routing, and real-time communication issues.
  • Minimum Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA) certification required within a specified timeframe upon starting.
  • Certified Technical Trainer (CTT+) certification is preferred; if not held at the time of employment, it must be obtained within a specified timeframe.
DESIRED KNOWLEDGE AND EXPERIENCE:
  • Experience in teaching voice and/or data networking.
  • Familiarity with Call Accounting Systems and Call Detail Recording for Avaya/Meridian Systems.
  • Ability to work with and configure third-party Call Accounting Systems.
  • Understanding of National Telecommunications Security guidelines is advantageous.
  • Curriculum design experience.
  • Security Clearance is mandatory; candidates must be eligible for clearance at the Secret Level.
GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES FOR ALL LEVELS OF VOICE TRAINERS:
  • Conduct assigned courses and manage the classroom environment, including setting up necessary technology and instructional materials. Prepare student evaluations and provide counseling to address performance and learning gaps.
  • Exhibit strong organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills, both written and verbal, to effectively present advanced training concepts using appropriate delivery technologies.
  • Possess experience as an instructor in a technical training setting and comprehensive knowledge of adult education methodologies.
  • Engage in special projects as required, including attending seminars and training for curriculum development.
  • Consult with clients to analyze needs and adapt instructional materials accordingly.
  • Update course content to align with industry standards.
  • Design and facilitate workshops and review sessions.
  • Provide one-on-one tutoring and review sessions as needed.
  • Collaborate with other instructors to install and configure new equipment for training purposes.
  • Adhere to established organizational policies and procedures.
