We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Project Engineer to join our team at WDF Inc., a Tutor Perini Corporation company.



Key Responsibilities


  • Inspect construction sites daily and coordinate with contractors to schedule deliveries.
  • Demonstrate a thorough understanding of construction field concepts, practices, and procedures.
  • Interpret designs and drawings for crafts installing materials and qualifications.
  • Research and resolve drawing interpretation problems, conflicts, interference, and errors.
  • Prepare field design change requisitions and "as built" drawings as required.
  • Prepare and disseminate all required documentation records, including status reports, punch lists, and sketches of work completed.
  • Verify that all completed work complies with applicable codes, drawings, and specifications.
  • Review and comment on the viability of designs as required, conducting value engineering functions.
  • Attend meetings with contractors, clients, or architects/engineers to coordinate design and construction efforts.
  • Provide necessary building control lines and elevations for accurate measurement and correct installation of materials or equipment.
  • Demonstrate a working knowledge of construction equipment, techniques, drawings, and specifications, as well as building materials and required standards applicable to the discipline.
  • Observe construction work performed in the field and create and process RFIs.
  • Participate in job walks and document and report findings.
  • Understand the company's quality control plan and take weekly photos to document any quality control issues.
  • Research and propose solutions to quality control issues.
  • Generate queries and reports in Procore software.
  • Review and maintain Quality Assurance/Quality Control Policies and Procedures.
  • Understand the company's safety program and participate in safety inspections.
  • Create specification checklists.
  • Review submittals against specifications and understand subcontractor job specifications and scope of work.
  • Review mock-up and/or shop drawings and specifications.
  • Possess the ability to attend meetings and transcribe detailed meeting minutes clearly, precisely, and accurately.
  • Demonstrate a schedule understanding in coordination with construction logistics and construction sequencing.
  • Understand the Change Management process and identify change events.
  • Perform quantity takeoffs.
  • Understand construction scheduling in coordination with construction logistics and sequencing.


Requirements


  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field from an accredited institution.
  • 5+ years of relevant experience with construction projects in the NYC metro area valued at $150 million or more.
  • Ability to successfully prioritize and manage multiple tasks and assignments.
  • Performs work tasks by receiving direction and then working independently, with an interest in quickly learning and applying new skills and abilities.
  • Working knowledge of Prolog or similar software.
  • Working knowledge of blueprint reading required.
  • Working knowledge of scheduling and estimating software.
  • Knowledge of CAD 2000 or CAD 3-D is desired.
  • Intermediate knowledge of Windows Office Systems, particularly in Excel, Word, and Outlook.
  • Excellent written and verbal skills.
  • Expected salary range for this position is $93,000 - $137,000 depending on experience.
