Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Diagnostic Imaging Technologist to join our team at Intermountain Healthcare. As a CT Technologist, you will play a critical role in providing high-quality imaging services to our patients.

Key Responsibilities
  • Ensure proper patient identification, order verification, and preparation for exams.
  • Perform CT procedures using ionizing radiation for diagnostic purposes.
  • Use ingenuity, initiative, and independent judgment to produce high-quality scans.
  • Understand cross-sectional anatomy and demonstrate anatomical positioning competency.
  • Familiar with the ALARA program and follow proper radiation safety protocol.
  • Demonstrate ability to critique own films.
  • Complete studies within acceptable time limitations per department expectations without compromising patient care or the quality of the examination.
  • Demonstrate knowledge and understanding of protocol relating to contrast administration.
  • Administer oral barium products or intravenous contrast material to patients as ordered by the physician and under radiologist or physician supervision.
  • Practice appropriate infection control and sterile techniques.
  • Provide patient education and ensure patient comfort.
  • Operate CT equipment and related information systems to ensure quality images are produced.
  • Exhibit working knowledge of contrast injectors and laser printers.
  • Exhibit understanding and proficiency with electronic imaging.
  • Thoroughly and accurately complete all required documentation, including time stamps and image storage.
  • Follow appropriate protocol for medical necessity, coding, and charging.
Requirements
  • ARRT registered technologist.
  • Current licensure in state of practice.
  • Basic life support (BLS) certified for healthcare providers.
  • One year of experience in CT.
  • Post-hire expectation: Meets departmental IV certification competency within three months of hire.
  • Post-hire expectation: (Where applicable) Must complete the controlled substance module within six months of hire.
  • Post-hire expectation: (Where applicable) Must complete the initial moderate sedation module within six months of hire.
Preferred Qualifications
  • CT registered by ARRT.
