The ideal candidate will possess experience in operating cranes, rigging, and forklifts to handle and relocate steel materials and equipment as necessary. A high level of proficiency and expertise in the trade is expected to successfully fulfill the responsibilities of this position.

Key Responsibilities

  • Timely movement of steel from the shop to prevent production delays.
  • Efficient loading and unloading of trucks and trailers.
  • Handling of paint racks and sandblasting racks.
  • Banding steel to pallets and bundles using appropriate machinery.
  • Safe operation of forklifts.
  • Maintenance and operation of all relevant equipment.
  • Additional tasks as assigned.
  • Transporting materials using forklifts as required.
  • Maintaining an organized and clean work environment.
  • Adhering to all safety protocols and personal protective equipment (PPE) requirements.

Qualifications

A high school diploma or equivalent (GED) is required, along with a minimum of two years of experience operating forklifts with a capacity of 30,000 lbs. or greater.

Specialized Knowledge and Skills

  • Proficiency in operating cranes, rigging, and forklifts.
  • Ability to read and interpret safety regulations, operating instructions, and procedural manuals.
  • Basic mathematical skills for measurement and calculations.
  • Strong reasoning skills to follow instructions and solve problems in standardized situations.
  • No specific certifications or licenses are required.
