Key Responsibilities

  • Efficiently transport steel from the shop to prevent delays in the fabrication process.
  • Load and unload trucks and trailers as required.
  • Manage the loading and unloading of paint and sandblasting racks.
  • Utilize banding machines to secure steel to pallets and bundles.
  • Operate forklifts safely and effectively.
  • Conduct operation and maintenance of all relevant equipment.
  • Perform additional tasks as assigned.
  • Transport materials using forklifts as necessary.
  • Maintain an organized and clean work environment.
  • Adhere to all safety protocols and personal protective equipment (PPE) requirements.

Qualifications

A high school diploma or equivalent (GED) is required, along with a minimum of two years of experience operating forklifts with a capacity of 30,000 lbs. or greater.

Specialized Knowledge and Skills

  • Proficiency in operating equipment such as cranes, rigging, and forklifts.
  • Ability to read and interpret safety rules, operating instructions, and maintenance manuals.
  • Strong mathematical skills for basic calculations.
  • Reasoning ability to follow instructions and solve problems in standardized situations.
  • No specific certificates or licenses are required.
