Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Interdisciplinary Industrial Engineer to join our team at the Department of the Navy. As a key member of our Acquisition Cost Estimating and Analysis Division, you will play a critical role in coordinating support efforts across the ACEA Cost Team and performing Acquisition Cost Estimating and Analysis for complex systems in all phases of the life cycle.

Key Responsibilities
  • Interface with customers on behalf of the ACEA Division and coordinate support efforts across the ACEA Cost Team.
  • Perform Acquisition Cost Estimating and Analysis for complex systems in all phases of the life cycle (development, production, and sustainment).
  • Direct and lead the day-to-day operations of the Team and perform analytical duties as required.
  • Ensure cost estimating/analysis principles, processes, techniques, and tools are applied properly to ensure accurate, timely, and consistent cost products.
  • Demonstrate a clear understanding of laws, regulations, and policies pertaining to our technical authority and the processes, training, and tools within the Acquisition Cost Estimating and Analysis Division.
  • Prioritize customer needs, develop teammates, and brief products at all levels of the organization.
  • Assist, review, and approve major products delivered to customers.
Requirements
  • Must be a US Citizen.
  • Must be determined suitable for federal employment.
  • Must participate in the direct deposit pay program.
  • New employees to the Department of the Navy will be required to successfully pass the E-Verify employment verification check.
  • Generally, current federal employees applying for GS jobs must serve at least one year at the next lower grade level.
  • Within the Department of Defense (DoD), the appointment of retired military members within 180 days immediately following retirement date to a civilian position is subject to the provisions of 5 United States Code 3326.
  • Males born after must be registered for Selective Service.
  • Will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty.
Qualifications

Applicants must have at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the (GS 12/13) grade level or pay band (DP-04) in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following:

  • Demonstrating a thorough understanding of air weapon systems and acquisition cost estimating, cost modeling, and cost analysis techniques.
  • Providing leadership for a complex program and associated acquisition cost team or similar integrated program team.
  • Conveying technical information, orally and in writing, to support analysis and review.
  • Managing resources to include developing, negotiating and clarifying workload and funding requirements with customers.
  • Utilizing concepts, principles and methods of cost estimating and analysis for air weapon systems and the relationship to acquisition and support strategies.
  • Training and providing assignments to junior team members in support of the customer while developing the skills and ability of the junior team members.
