As the Systems Security Engineer (SSE), you will deliver expert systems engineering assistance to a critical acquisition initiative. Your role may include leading projects in the formulation of engineering protocols and controls. With your profound knowledge of technology acquisition processes, you will assess and validate technological needs and solutions.

This position requires on-site work.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide guidance to Program Managers and Integrated Product Team (IPT) Leads on technical issues related to Systems Security Engineering.
  • Oversee and summarize the evaluation of engineering specifications, testing, and reporting throughout the lifecycle of SSE disciplines, including Cybersecurity, Anti-Tamper, Software Assurance, Supply Chain Risk Management, and OPSEC.
  • Draft and review engineering documentation during the systems engineering and acquisition phases.
  • Facilitate and potentially lead program management meetings to discuss engineering and acquisition needs concerning Program Protection Planning for Critical Program Information.
  • Act as a consultant and advisor to various government, industry, and Department of Defense segments on System Security Engineering matters.
  • Engage in program and Systems Engineering Technical Reviews (SETR), analyze procurement specifications, and provide technical insights on Engineering Change Proposals and upgrades.
  • Contribute to the development of Statements of Work and specifications for competitive procurement.
  • Flexibility in working hours may be required.

Qualifications:

Education, Skills, and Experience:

  • A Bachelor's degree in an engineering, technical, business, or management discipline is essential.
  • A minimum of 4 years of experience in business, management, development, and integration within aviation or defense sectors, including at least 3 years in Naval Aviation systems engineering.
  • At least 2 years of recent experience in preparing project budgets and Statements of Work.
  • Proficient in creating systems engineering documentation such as Anti-Tamper Plans, Test Plans, and Program Management Plans in line with DoD 5000 series guidelines.
  • Ability to evaluate technical documentation including contractor deliverables and system specifications.
  • Experience in design related to aircraft in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or System Integration.
  • Demonstrated expertise in planning, management, budgeting, and coordinating technical and contract requirements.
  • Knowledge of developing DoD acquisition and technical documentation supporting anti-tamper initiatives and performing technical analysis of anti-tamper capabilities.

Security Clearance:

  • This role necessitates U.S. citizenship and an active DoD Top Secret clearance. The selected candidate will undergo a government security investigation and must meet eligibility criteria for access to classified information.
