About the Role

Halff is seeking a highly skilled Senior Community Development Planner / Project Management Specialist to join their Richardson, Texas office. As a key member of the interdisciplinary team, you will work collaboratively with planners, landscape architects, and other experts on a wide range of planning efforts with public and private entities.

Key Responsibilities
  • Project management and support of senior staff projects
  • Public engagement and community outreach
  • Plan development, report writing, and document production
  • Assisting with the preparation of computer-generated maps and graphic elements
  • Mentoring younger staff and balancing client, company, and project team responsibilities
  • Managing budgets and tasks, and overseeing the preparation of high-quality documents and deliverables
  • Participating in business development activities and representing the firm
Requirements
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in community/urban planning, architecture, landscape architecture, or a closely related field
  • Advanced degree a plus
  • 6 to 10 years of experience in a planning capacity
  • Project management experience required
  • Well-organized, detail-oriented, and highly motivated
  • Strong writing skills
  • Demonstrated abilities in facilitating community stakeholder input and public meetings
  • Knowledge of computer programs (GIS, Adobe Creative Suite, and Microsoft Office programs)
Desired Qualifications
  • Experience in both the public and private sector
  • AICP and/or other certifications from our allied professions (ASLA, AIA, CNU-A, LEED-ND, etc.)
