We are in search of a risk management expert who is technically skilled, self-driven, and results-oriented to join our Central - Shared Services team.

Your role will involve conducting thorough safety and risk evaluations, providing our Underwriting teams with insightful analytical assessments of risk to support our aim for profitable growth across various sectors, including Dealerships, Construction, Manufacturing, Wholesale Trade, Retail, Commercial Real Estate, and Service industries.

The successful candidate will foster strong relationships with our agents and policyholders, leading selected safety workshops and training sessions to enhance the value-added services that Sentry is renowned for.

We are looking for an individual who is enthusiastic about consulting on safety and risk management practices, is capable of working remotely, and possesses excellent organizational skills to effectively manage their territory, which includes regular travel.

Compensation: The salary range for a Safety and Risk Management Advisor in Wisconsin is $65,200-$89,500 annually.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct on-site evaluations of facilities to assess whether operational risks are adequately managed to prevent losses.
  • Determine the scope and schedule for preventive maintenance programs on essential mechanical systems within the facility.
  • Evaluate if facility protections, such as fire suppression and alarm systems, are suitable for the building's occupancy and hazards.
  • Prepare detailed reports for various lines of business, including Property, General Liability, Auto, and Workers Compensation, to assist underwriting teams with account evaluations.
  • Support clients in developing and implementing safety policies, programs, and procedures tailored to their specific risks.
  • Provide advanced risk management and advisory services to assigned clients.
  • Conduct job-site safety inspections and coordinate online OSHA training for our construction line of business.
  • Maintain expertise in safety management across areas such as commercial property protection, general liability, product liability, fleet safety, and employee safety.
  • Design and deliver safety and risk management seminars and training programs to promote awareness and mitigate claims.
  • Develop and implement service proposals and plans for qualifying accounts.

Qualifications:

  • A four-year degree in Safety is preferred.
  • Focus on Occupational Safety & Health, Engineering, or Physical Sciences is advantageous.
  • 1-2 years of experience in insurance safety consulting or safety roles in private industry is preferred.
  • Strong independence, organization, and self-motivation to work remotely.
  • Experience in managing large or multi-location accounts is preferred.
  • Familiarity with OSHA, ANSI, NFPA Standards, and DOT regulations.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong critical thinking abilities.
  • Willingness to learn specialized building valuation systems and reporting software.
  • Acceptable driving record for travel, including overnight trips.
  • A desire to pursue professional safety designations such as CSP is encouraged.
